Chapter 132: The Harvest
After a brief moment of reflection, Liu Pan immersed himself completely in his cultivation. Whether this body was truly as he suspected or not, he was in no condition to verify it while suffering from such severe injuries.
Moreover, he was on an isolated island in the middle of the ocean; violent storms and tidal waves could strike again at any moment. His priority had to be to recover as quickly as possible before leaving this place.
Having now stepped into the realm of a Martial King, his speed in absorbing elemental energy was more than twice as fast as before, and his body's natural healing abilities had also improved significantly.
Time passed as the moon faded and the sun rose. A crimson sun hung high in the sky, and the lunar essence Liu Pan had been absorbing transformed into solar essence.
Around noon, Liu Pan gritted his teeth against the pain and sat up. Such a rate of recovery was truly astonishing, especially since he had only consumed a small amount of low-grade healing pills, yet his initial state had been no better than a cripple.
Glancing at the mangled remains of the Nether Flood Dragon not far away, Liu Pan pondered for a moment before standing up and walking toward it.
Though the Nether Flood Dragon was dead, its lingering aura remained intimidating. Liu Pan approached it because he knew that a beast of such caliber was an immeasurable treasure in every respect.
Due to the lightning tribulation, the dragon’s body had been ravaged, but upon closer inspection, Liu Pan noticed two sections behind its massive head that appeared distinctly unusual.
One section, not far from the head, had only a single wound, while the other was much further down and remained almost entirely unscathed.
After a quick calculation, it dawned on Liu Pan that these two spots corresponded to the dragon’s "three-inch" and "seven-inch" vital points.
For snakes, the three-inch and seven-inch marks are fatal weaknesses. The three-inch point is the most fragile part of the spine; if severed, the connection between the nerve center and the rest of the body is destroyed, leading to paralysis. As for the seven-inch point, it is the location of the heart; a heavy blow there is almost always fatal.
Although the Nether Flood Dragon was not a snake, it shared a lineage with them and possessed similar vulnerabilities. It was only natural that it would have focused on protecting these two spots during the lightning tribulation.
It seemed that the dragon’s desperate efforts to guard these areas had only served to make things easier for Liu Pan.
In the eyes of humanity—a species gifted with terrifying ingenuity—a creature like the Nether Flood Dragon was a walking treasury; from its scales to its flesh and bones, every part had infinite utility. With such a massive treasure lying before him, there was no way Liu Pan would pass it up.
With a thought, Liu Pan retrieved the long sword that had belonged to Li Tu from his storage ring.
Li Tu was dead, and the sword was now ownerless. Liu Pan focused his intent, and a spiritual imprint flew from the center of his brow to brand the blade. It was a fine weapon, a high-grade spirit tool; even with Liu Pan’s current cultivation at the early Martial King stage, he could not yet unleash the sword’s full potential.
Under the control of his spiritual power, the long sword hovered in the air, swiftly dissecting the dragon’s carcass.
He began with the "three-inch" mark. Since he was working along an existing wound, it didn't take long to harvest a collection of intact scales. To his regret, there was nothing else to be found there—at least, not in his estimation.
However, when he processed the "seven-inch" area, he grew excited. Beyond a large quantity of scales, he retrieved a section of dragon tendon. Dragon tendon was a rare and precious material, and coming from a beast that had reached the Saint realm, its value was truly immense despite its small size.
Beyond the tendon, he harvested a portion of the dragon meat, though he stopped quickly; the space inside his storage ring was limited, and he simply could not carry much more.
Finally, Liu Pan sliced through the outer flesh to reveal the dragon’s heart.
Heart’s blood is precious for almost any living creature. Liu Pan would certainly not let it go to waste. For a beast like the Nether Flood Dragon, even ordinary blood was valuable, let alone the heart’s blood.
He quickly rummaged through his storage ring for a jade vial capable of holding liquids and stepped into the cavity of the beast’s body to collect it.
Suddenly, he pulled his foot back with a start.
What on earth? He looked down at a pool of colorless, transparent liquid nearby, a lingering sense of shock in his eyes.
It was a puddle of clear, odorless, and colorless liquid. In fact, he had noticed it earlier but had assumed it was merely rainwater collected during the storm. Now, he realized that was far from the truth.
The liquid was crystal clear and emitted no scent or aura, which was why he had ignored it. But he could no longer afford to be dismissive, because the sensation of stepping into it had been far too bizarre.
It was truly unsettling. When his foot touched the liquid, he had felt as if he were stepping on solid ground, and even more alarmingly, he had felt something attempting to penetrate his body through the meridians in his foot. It was such a terrifying sensation that for a split second, he thought he had been ambushed.
He scanned the area with his spiritual power, but the feedback suggested it was merely ordinary water—albeit exceptionally clean.
Liu Pan frowned, looking around before returning his gaze to the pool. He understood that in these conditions, such purity was anything but normal.
After a moment of hesitation, he stepped forward and carefully extended a finger toward the liquid.
Instantly, his body shuddered. He forcibly suppressed the urge to pull his hand back. A moment later, a sensation of cool, soothing comfort washed over him. With a flicker of surprise, he pressed his entire palm into the liquid.
It was an indescribable feeling. He felt something permeate his palm, traveling along the meridians of his arm to every part of his body.
His mind and body felt refreshed, and the aches and pains from his injuries seemed to diminish significantly under that cool, soothing touch.
What is this? He stared at the transparent liquid, his curiosity deepening. He soon concluded that this was no ordinary substance. Given its presence here, it must have belonged to the Nether Flood Dragon.
Anything deemed worthy by a Nether Flood Dragon... was undoubtedly a treasure.
