Though ordinary people might not recognize the three men, Master Lin knew them very well. They were all martial artists from the Zhao family, each around his own level—roughly at the mid-stage of External Force.

Seeing the three men who clearly had no idea what they were up against, he was so startled that he cried out in alarm before hurriedly raising his head. “Who dares to be so bold?”

He soon regained his composure. Being cautious by nature, he had kept a trump card in reserve.

Although he did not know who was reckless enough to attack his men, there was still an expert concealed nearby.

When Master Lin saw that there was no response, he snorted coldly. “Stop playing tricks! Liu Yao, make your move. Your men have already been beaten half to death.”

“There’s someone else?” Song Yixuan frowned.

“Heh. Did you really think there were only three? To be honest, I also invited a late-stage External Force expert to stand guard, specifically to prevent situations like this.”

Even Song Yixuan could no longer remain calm.

If she were facing two or three mid-stage External Force experts, she might be able to drag a few of them down with her in a desperate struggle. But against a late-stage expert, she truly had no chance at all. At this moment, she could only place her hopes in the person hiding in the shadows.

The members of the Wang family were utterly despairing. They had finally thought they were saved, only to find themselves trapped in a hopeless situation once again.

“Liu Yao?” Master Lin called out again.

“You’re looking for him?” A young man’s voice drifted out of the mist.

Everyone present recognized that voice, yet none of them dared believe it. They all raised their heads.

Only Song Yixuan quietly let out a sigh of relief. He had come.

Jiang Xiaotian walked over, dangling Liu Yao from one hand like a dead dog. Amid the stunned gazes of the crowd, he tossed the half-dead martial artist onto the ground beside Master Lin.

“We meet again, Master Lin.” Jiang Xiaotian deliberately emphasized his words, his voice filled with unmistakable mockery.

Wang Xuening was completely dumbfounded. The situation had lurched from one extreme to another all day long, and now Jiang Dali—whom they had always looked down on—had suddenly appeared and silently dealt with four martial artists.

Master Lin’s mind had gone blank. Jiang Dali? How could it be him? How had he done this?

“You did this?” Master Lin cried out in disbelief.

Jiang Xiaotian clapped his hands. “What if I told you I happened to find them on the way? Would you believe me?”

As he spoke, he walked toward Master Lin. With every step he took, the aura within his body grew stronger. Aided by the spiritual energy, it ultimately settled at the early stage of Internal Force.

The overwhelming power pressed down on Master Lin until he could barely breathe. He instinctively retreated, only to discover that both his legs were trembling uncontrollably.

“Impossible! You? You… what are you pretending to be?” Though his mouth remained defiant, Master Lin’s teeth were chattering.

Absolutely impossible! Master Lin refused to believe that the good-for-nothing had already reached the Internal Force stage. Yet the other man’s aura had practically become tangible, cutting into his cheeks like countless sharp blades and causing them to sting painfully.

At that moment, Jiang Xiaotian appeared in his eyes like a demon god. The closer he came, the more terrifying the pressure became.

Master Lin did not know that Jiang Xiaotian’s spiritual energy also carried the aura of a dragon. Against ordinary martial artists, it exerted a deadly suppression rooted in their bloodlines—something no one could resist.

In the end, Master Lin could hold out no longer. His knees became as heavy as though they had been filled with lead, and with a loud thud, he fell to his knees. All that remained in his heart was fear of death.

Jiang Xiaotian had effortlessly killed three martial artists of the same level as himself, along with another who was even stronger than he was. What right did Master Lin have to provoke such a monster?

“You colluded with the Zhao family and tried to exploit these juniors’ trust in you to harm them. Do you even deserve to call yourself a human?” Jiang Xiaotian was utterly disgusted with him. Relying on a little ability, the man had looked down on everyone else—and he had also committed Jiang Xiaotian’s greatest taboo: deception.

By now, Master Lin had none of the bearing of a grandmaster. He was trembling uncontrollably under Jiang Xiaotian’s glare.

“I… I was forced into it by the Zhao family… Who exactly are you?” Master Lin’s lips had gone white. He finally understood why Jiang Xiaotian had always behaved so strangely yet had never feared him. This man’s identity was certainly far more complicated than it appeared.

But Jiang Xiaotian was even more disappointed by that excuse. “You kept invoking the Zhao family when they were your backing, and now that things have gone wrong, you claim you were forced? What a loser!”

He struck out with a single palm. A vortex of spiritual energy accompanied the blow, knocking half the teeth from Master Lin’s mouth. After crying out in pain, Master Lin fainted on the spot.

This man who called himself a grandmaster truly had not even dared to resist. Jiang Xiaotian despised him from the bottom of his heart.

Then he waved his hand, and the spiritual energy permeating the area dispersed. Everyone present, including the members of the Wang family, immediately felt as though a great weight had been lifted from their shoulders. Even breathing became much easier.

Wang Xuening blinked her wide eyes, overwhelmed with delight, and hurried over. “Jiang Dali! I had no idea you were this powerful!”

The other members of the Wang family also came over to thank him, though they were somewhat embarrassed. After all, nearly every one of them had treated Jiang Xiaotian coldly before.

But Jiang Xiaotian was not one to hold grudges. Besides, they had only behaved that way after being manipulated by Master Lin, so he let bygones be bygones.

“All right, don’t waste time talking. The city park is far too dangerous for you to stay and play in. Leave with her.” As he spoke, Jiang Xiaotian pointed toward Song Yixuan.

Their eyes met. Song Yixuan said nothing more than necessary, merely giving him a light nod in greeting.

After returning the gesture, Jiang Xiaotian urged them to leave. With so many martial artists suddenly out of contact, the Zhao family—with its rat-like nature—would certainly send someone to investigate.

Besides, even if he told them to stay, they would refuse with all their might. Every one of them had been frightened out of their wits and wanted only to get out as quickly as possible.

Only Wang Xuening continued staring at Jiang Xiaotian with sparkling eyes, her curiosity toward him growing by the second.

“Jiang Dali, what kind of person are you, really? How are you so powerful? Why did you protect us?”

She fired off one question after another. Jiang Xiaotian froze for a moment, realizing that she had misunderstood something.

“Because I am the embodiment of justice!” Jiang Xiaotian answered without batting an eye, repeating the line he had often used when he was a child.

Wang Xuening stared blankly for a moment before bursting into laughter.

“All right, all right. If you don’t want to say, forget it. But thank you. Luckily you came, or we really would have been finished.”

She was still shaken by what had happened. Yet the more she looked at Jiang Xiaotian, the more pleasing he seemed. Her earlier dislike of him had come from thinking he was merely showing off. As it turned out, he really did possess the ability to back it up.

Even Wang Lei gave Jiang Xiaotian a friendly smile, though his injured face made the expression somewhat strained.

“Now it’s actually our Wang family that has benefited from your help. We owe you a favor,” Wang Xuening said openly. She was very clever. If she could build a good relationship with Jiang Xiaotian, her family would not have to let others bully them in the future.

Jiang Xiaotian did not answer. Instead, he stroked his chin thoughtfully. “You do owe me something…”

Wang Xuening was just about to ask what he meant when Song Yixuan approached with an exasperated look.

“Jiang Dali? Is that your childhood nickname, Jiang Xiaotian? I never would have guessed.”

“Jiang… Jiang… Jiang Xiaotian?” Wang Xuening looked from Jiang Xiaotian to Song Yixuan.

Song Yixuan had no idea what had happened between them, so she spoke bluntly. “Miss, don’t let him fool you. This man is no good. He’s Jiang Xiaotian, the con artist.”

What? When did I become a con artist?

Jiang Xiaotian wore an expression of utter confusion.

But Wang Xuening could no longer hear a word. She stood there motionless like a statue, her eyes empty.

Song Yixuan waved a hand in front of her face. “Miss, are you all right? What’s wrong?”

Wang Xuening finally moved. She gave a bitter laugh. “I’m fine. Ha-ha, I’m fine.”

She had come to her senses and now wanted nothing more than to find a crack in the ground to crawl into.

Jiang Dali was actually Jiang Xiaotian!

She had treated her idol like that!

But who was Jiang Xiaotian? He roused the dazed Wang Xuening, then began taking off his clothes while swaying his body in an exaggerated manner, as though deliberately hinting at something.

The others did not understand, but how could Wang Xuening fail to?

She immediately remembered what she had said:

“If you’re Jiang Xiaotian, I’ll take off my clothes and dance on a pole!”

The next thing heard was a scream of utter humiliation and fury.

Wang Xuening remained dazed and unresponsive until the very end, when she was led out of the park.

Jiang Xiaotian was grinning from ear to ear. He had a mischievous streak, and once everything was over, he planned to go find her and have some fun.

After Song Yixuan led them away, Jiang Xiaotian also put his thoughts in order. He immediately expanded his senses to their utmost limit and began searching for members of the Zhao family.

It was time to give them a surprise.

Yet in the very next second, every hair on Jiang Xiaotian’s body stood on end.

Someone had their eyes on him!
