Chapter 45: Liu Yilong Is Dead

“Heh heh heh… I’ve never lost!”
Yi Long charged at Cao Yang again. This time his steps were disordered, and compared with his first two attacks, he was hardly worth mentioning.
He was certain Cao Yang would not dare attack him again and would simply let him land a beating before admitting defeat. After all, his brother’s reputation was well known, and practically everyone in their circle knew who he was.
He was far too confident. He had overlooked the fact that Cao Yang was an outsider—and even if Cao Yang had been part of their circle, he might not have cared.
As Yi Long’s fist came crashing toward him, Cao Yang’s gaze turned cold. He concentrated all his strength in his right fist and slammed it into Liu Yi Long’s chest.
With a sharp crack, Liu Yi Long’s breastbone shattered. The broken bone pierced his heart, and his entire body was sent flying into the cage barrier before crashing heavily to the ground, unable to move.
“Get up! Get up, Yi Long! Beat him to death!” the spectators shouted from below, unwilling to lose their money.
But they did not know that Liu Yi Long would never get up again—not for the rest of his life. Only those sitting nearby could clearly see that his chest had caved in, leaving a deep crater. There was little chance of saving him.
The beautiful referee climbed into the cage. Seeing Liu Yi Long lying severely injured on the ground with his chest sunken inward, she hurriedly summoned the medical staff to carry him away for treatment.
After Liu Yi Long had been taken away, she walked over to Cao Yang, raised his wrist high, and announced his victory.
The spectators erupted in curses. Only those who had bet on Cao Yang were laughing heartily.
Cao Yang went backstage to change clothes. Suddenly, several men barged in and glared at him menacingly.
“What do you want?” Tie Xiong and Jim also came in.
“Can’t you Henan Gang accept a loss?”
The leader of the group stared coldly at Cao Yang and warned him, “Kid, if anything happens to Yi Long, you won’t live either!”
Cao Yang did not answer. He merely watched him with a cold expression.
“Fuck your mother! Who are you trying to scare? Life and death are up to fate in the octagonal cage. If you can’t afford to lose, then don’t fucking get in there!”
Tie Xiong cursed furiously, and Jim nodded in agreement.
The men from the Henan Gang ignored them and tried to take Cao Yang away.
The subordinates Tie Xiong and Jim had brought also rushed in. Just as a clash was about to break out, another man entered.
He was apparently the owner of the fight club. After he both persuaded and warned the two sides, the confrontation was finally prevented.
Tie Xiong led Cao Yang out of the underground fight club. Behind them, his men carried two large bags stuffed with cash. It seemed they had made quite a profit again that day.
“Not bad, Cao Yang. You’re seriously impressive!” Tie Xiong patted him on the shoulder repeatedly in the car, praising him without pause.
“You’ve made a name for yourself in these last two fights. Next time, plenty of people will bet on you to win, so you just win again. The time after that, practically everyone will bet on you. Then you lose one match, and we’ll make an absolute fortune!”
Tie Xiong rambled excitedly about his plans, his face flushed red.
Cao Yang, however, had no interest in listening.
“Get my sister out,” Cao Yang reminded him. He had better not forget his promise.
“Don’t worry. I keep my word.” Tie Xiong patted him on the shoulder and told the driver to go to Qinghe Police Station.
Standing outside the police station, Tie Xiong asked, “You won’t leave Guancheng after I get your sister out, will you?”
He was afraid Cao Yang would rescue his sister and immediately flee.

“No.”
“Good.”
After saying that, Tie Xiong strode into the police station. Cao Yang did not follow him inside and waited outside.
Before long, Li Yan was brought out. When she saw Cao Yang, tears filled her eyes. If there had not been outsiders present, she probably would have thrown her arms around him and burst into tears.
“Come on, I’ll drive you home.” Tie Xiong smiled at the two of them, hoping to find out where they were living now.
Cao Yang politely declined and told him to leave first. Tie Xiong did not insist.
“He’s actually a pretty good person,” Li Yan said as she watched Tie Xiong’s car disappear into the distance. She had never expected him to be the one who rescued her.
“How can you be even more foolish than I am? Didn’t it occur to you that he might have been the one who sent you there in the first place?” Cao Yang scolded her, then gave her bottom a sharp smack.
“What? Is he really that awful?” Li Yan began to think. After considering it carefully, she realized that it did indeed seem likely.
“Come on. We’re going home to pack.”
“Why are we packing?”
“We’re leaving this city.”
“But what about the house we just bought?”
“We’re only leaving for a while. We’ll come back.”
After packing her luggage, Li Yan gazed reluctantly at their new home.
“Let’s go. I’ve already bought your ticket. Go back to our hometown first and take some money to Mother.”
“What? You’re not coming with me?” Li Yan stared at Cao Yang in shock.
“I still have something to take care of. Come back after I’m finished.” A murderous glint flashed through Cao Yang’s eyes. Having Li Yan by his side was a weakness. Only after sending her away could he fight without holding back.
“I won’t! If we’re leaving, we leave together!” Li Yan pleaded coquettishly.
Cao Yang hardened his expression and ordered her to leave at once.
In the end, Cao Yang escorted her to the railway station. Only after turning back three times with every step did she finally enter.
…
“Brother Bear, that kid Cao Yang really intends to run. He’s already gone into the station.” Outside the railway station, Mountain Hawk was reporting to Tie Xiong from inside a black Honda sedan.
“Then stop him, damn it!” Tie Xiong roared.
“I don’t dare! I’d be no match for him alone.”
Mountain Hawk was still complaining when Cao Yang suddenly knocked on the car window.
Mountain Hawk jumped in fright. Embarrassed, he lowered the window and called out, “Brother Yang.”
Cao Yang ignored him and snatched the phone from his hand.
“I’m not leaving. I just have something to discuss with you about the fights.”
“Brother, I didn’t deliberately send someone to follow you…” Tie Xiong sounded unusually awkward. After repeatedly calling Cao Yang a brother and insisting that he trusted him, he had immediately been caught having him followed.
“We’ll talk when we meet.” Cao Yang did not want to listen to his nonsense. He got into Mountain Hawk’s car and returned to the Pearl Nightclub.

Tie Xiong ended the call and rubbed his nose. His skin was thick, and after a brief moment of embarrassment, he quickly returned to normal.
He was somewhat curious about why Cao Yang wanted to see him. After thinking it over, he decided Cao Yang was probably unhappy about fighting for free and wanted some money.
He figured that as long as Cao Yang did not ask for too much, he could agree.
His phone vibrated again with an incoming call.
“Brother Bear, Liu Yi Long is dead.”
“He’s really dead?”
“Really dead.”
Tie Xiong’s feelings were complicated. He had not expected Cao Yang to actually beat Liu Yi Long to death.
Although life and death were not a concern inside the octagonal cage, that rule applied only to impoverished fighters without any backing. Liu Yi Long’s older brother was the leader of the Henan Gang. He certainly would not let the matter rest.
Tie Xiong belonged to the Hunan Gang, so he was not afraid of the Henan Gang. But he had to consider whether it was worth fighting them over Cao Yang. If things went badly, they might not only target Cao Yang—they might also settle the score with him.
Even if he did decide to fight the Henan Gang, without the support of the boss above him, his men would certainly be no match for them.
Just as he was torn between his choices, his phone rang again. This time, the caller was the leader of the Hunan Gang, She Zhishan. Tie Xiong answered with great respect.
“Boss.”
“Do you know that Liu Zhenhu’s younger brother is dead?”
“I just found out.”
“Was he killed by one of your men?”
“You can’t really call him my man. He was just a fighter.”
“Liu Zhenhu called me and said he wants the lives of both of you.”
“Then should we fight him?”
“Are you out of your mind? What era do you think this is? All you do is talk about fighting! Aren’t you comfortable living the good life?”
“But he wants me dead!”
“Don’t worry. He’s only making threats in the heat of the moment because his brother died. You’re my man. If he wants to kill you, he’ll have to ask whether I agree.”
“But hand that fighter over to him. Let him vent his anger.”
“All right.”
Tie Xiong reluctantly agreed. Although he had regarded Cao Yang as an incredibly profitable asset, he could no longer protect him.
He called Liu Zhenhu.
“Brother Tiger, I’m Little Tie. What happened to Yi Long was truly an accident. It had nothing to do with me. That fighter refused to listen to me. I told him Yi Long was your younger brother, but he ignored me and insisted on killing him.”
“Ah, I’m not trying to make excuses for myself. My boss ordered me to hand the man over to you. He’ll be arriving at my establishment shortly. Come and take him away.”
