Chapter 33: If Your Whole Family Dies? Well, That’s Not Much of a Loss for You
Bai Lu slept soundly until noon. After packing her suitcase and opening the door, she saw Yu Fuqing still kneeling outside her room; her jaw clenched so hard it nearly shattered her teeth.
Yu Fuqing gazed at her with deep affection. “Xiao Lu, at least let your Brother Fuqing explain himself to you, won’t you?”
The veins on Bai Lu’s forehead throbbed. “You’ve been kneeling here since morning?”
“Yes,” Yu Fuqing replied. “Will you listen to me explain?”
Bai Lu swung her suitcase at him. “I swear I’ll kill you!”
From morning until now, the entire film crew had witnessed this spectacle.
There was no way to clear her name now.
Yu Fuqing’s nose spurted blood on the spot from the blow, but he covered his nose and smiled at her, nauseatingly sweet. “Xiao Lu, I know you’re angry. If hitting me makes you feel better, hit me as much as you like. I don’t dare ask for your forgiveness. All I ask is that you hear me out.”
With so many eyes watching, Bai Lu simply couldn’t afford to lose face like this. “Secretary, help him up. Whatever he wants to say, let him say it in the car.”
Yu Fuqing leaned against the secretary, his legs numb and trembling, yet his heart filled with warmth. The girl still cared for him after all; she couldn’t bear to let him kneel any longer. She was just thin-skinned and angry, but that was fine—he’d coax her a little more and it would be alright.
The crew had finished packing, and several buses waited downstairs.
Someone asked, “Xiao Lu, will you ride with Young Master Yu?”
Bai Lu nodded.
It took more than six hours to get from the resort to the airport. Yu Fuqing’s car was surely more comfortable than the crew’s bus—there was no way she’d make her own comfort suffer.
Once inside the car, Yu Fuqing broke down in tears as he tried to explain himself. Naturally, he pushed all the blame onto Shen Xinluo: she had drugged him, she had seduced him, he had mistaken her for Bai Lu.
No surprise there—not in the least.
Yu Fuqing produced a folder and handed it to her. “Xiao Lu, that video was leaked from your computer. But your computer was hacked by Wu Liping. She did it, trying to drive a wedge between us.”
Bai Lu didn’t even bother to take the folder. She knew Wu Liping had hacked her computer; that was why she’d dared to use her own device to leak the video.
As she grew older, Wu Liping’s greatest fear was losing control over her. So Wu Liping had not only hacked her computer but also her phone, monitoring her every move.
Bai Lu sneered, “Just answer me this—was it you who slept with Shen Xinluo?”
Yu Fuqing replied, “I was set up! Xiao Lu, I—”
“Get out.” Bai Lu’s face was expressionless. “You’re not flying with me today, either. To make it clear: before I sign with Yuxing Entertainment, don’t let me see you again.”
Yu Fuqing’s heart soared when he heard she was still willing to sign with Yuxing Entertainment.
He’d known it—she was only this angry because she liked him. She had a temper, but he just needed to coax her patiently. For now, he’d let her calm down on her own.
So Young Master Yu cheerfully went off to ride the crew’s bus.
To win Bai Lu’s favor, Yu Fuqing generously chartered an entire plane to fly the crew back to the capital.
Since Bai Lu wouldn’t let him fly with her, Yu Fuqing could only buy a first-class ticket on a later flight.
“Leak Bai Lu’s flight information,” he instructed.
The secretary was momentarily stunned. “President Yu, that’ll pack the airport with fans. There could even be a stampede—”
“And leak her home address as well,” Yu Fuqing said with a smile. “Do you understand?”
“…Understood,” the secretary nodded.
Yu Fuqing picked up a magazine and started leafing through it absentmindedly.
How could he possibly wait until the contract was signed to see Xiao Lu? With a few tricks, he’d have her living in his villa in no time.

On the plane—
Bai Lu thought to herself: I let my guard down.
She’d managed to shake off the clingy Yu Fuqing, but forgotten how terrifying the crew’s appetite for gossip could be.
“Tsk, Yu Fuqing is really persistent,” Director Zhang commented. “He knelt, hard, from morning until noon.”
Sister Huahua chimed in, “And that suitcase! Young Master Yu’s nose was bleeding from the blow. Looks like Xiao Lu really likes him. Otherwise, with her personality, she’d never lay a hand on anyone.”
The assistant director sighed, “Isn’t there any way to keep Xiao Lu from liking Yu Fuqing?”
Director Zhang shook his head. “Bai Xiaolu is stubborn—once she falls for someone, it’s for life. No chance.”
“If I ever like Yu Fuqing, may my whole family perish!” Bai Lu couldn’t take it anymore, threw off her blanket, and swore to the heavens.
Director Zhang quipped, “You’re an orphan. At worst, it’s the whole Shenyanghong family that’s doomed—not a bad deal for you.”
The assistant director teased, “Bai Xiaolu, I suspect you’re doing this on purpose.”
Bai Lu was speechless.
What a mess.
She pulled out her phone and jabbing at her father’s photo on the lock screen. “See this? Looks are a minimum—at least like Film Emperor Lu. Net worth—must be the richest man in the country.”
Sister Huahua considered this. “Bai Xiaolu, it’s monogamy. You can’t marry both the Film Emperor and the richest man. It’s illegal.”
Bai Lu stared. “?????”
What kind of fools made up this crew?
A snicker came from behind the curtain.
Bai Lu’s ears pricked up. Her expression changed as she looked toward first class. “That refined scoundrel in a suit?”
Tang Xing pulled back the curtain. “My name is Tang Xing.”
“Is Asui here?!” Bai Lu’s eyes lit up.
Second Master Yin was puzzled. “Asui?”
The moment she heard his voice, Bai Lu’s trembling was all too real.
Director Zhang was curious. “You know—”
Bai Lu clapped a hand over his mouth, lowering her voice. “I’m begging you, please, just keep quiet.”
Did he even know who was sitting in first class?
It was the richest man in the country—Huo Yan Fang!
“Come in.”
At the sound of the tycoon’s voice, Bai Lu nearly burst into tears.
She looked pleadingly at Tang Xing.
Tang Xing shook his head and beckoned her over.
When the richest man called her, there was no room for choice; she had to go.
Bai Lu stood up, glancing back at every step.
She left Director Zhang and the others completely bewildered.
A cold wind blowing, the water by Yi River chilled—was this some tragic hero’s final march?
Why did it feel so solemn?
As soon as Bai Lu entered first class, Tang Xing let the curtain fall, blocking all curious eyes from view.
“Mr. Huo… Huo… Huo… Huo, hello.” The moment she entered, Bai Lu began to apologize. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have been so brash as to joke about you. It was my fault for running my mouth. Please, forgive me one more time.”
The tycoon didn’t seem to care about her standards for a husband starting at ‘richest man in the country.’ Instead, he pointed to the ethereal man beside him, arching an eyebrow. “Asui?”
Bai Lu realized her mistake. “I’m sorry, I was far too impudent. I shouldn’t have been so disrespectful to Mr. Huo Yan Sui. Being rude to him is the same as being disrespectful to you. I was wrong.”
Second Master Yin said nothing.
Huo Yan Fang rested one hand on the armrest, pressing his lips together, but couldn’t suppress a smile. He turned his head to gaze out the window.
Second Master Yin eyed the smile he couldn’t quite contain and said meaningfully, “No wonder you refused to fly private and insisted on this flight. Must be some pressing official business, right, Tang Xing?”
Tang Xing understood Second Master Yin’s teasing but dared not say a word.
Bai Lu truly didn’t grasp the tycoon’s meaning and didn’t dare say a word herself.
She stood obediently, hands clasped behind her back, her smile more polished than a flight attendant’s.
