Chapter 80: The Little Tyrant Wei Qianjun
The army was restless, soldiers uneasy, horses pawing the ground.
“A mere child dares call himself the Little Overlord of Jiangdong? Today, I, Le Jiu, shall slaughter an overlord! Even Xiang Yu himself would kneel and beg for mercy before me!”
A wiry general strode forth. Le Jiu, standing before the ranks, spoke with contempt, “The Sun family has nothing but a loud name. As for Sun Jian, the so-called Tiger of Jiangdong, he fell for a trick even a toddler would see through. To me, he’s nothing but the Weeping Dog of Jiangdong!”
Sun Ce’s Overlord Spear gleamed gold, quivering faintly; the tip radiated the hunger of a tiger, his terrifying gaze striking fear into all.
“Hyah!”
His warhorse advanced further; Cheng Pu and the others felt a chill in their hearts—one more step and they’d be within range of enemy archers!
“Prime Minister, you must not go any further!”
Le Jiu sneered, clearly the young man’s temper had been provoked, easy to manipulate, not worth their concern.
“Only someone as useless as Sun Jian could produce a son like you—all worthless!” Lei Bu shouted, echoing Le Jiu.
“Old fool, young fool!”
“Old fool, young fool!”
...
Yuan Shu’s troops shouted, their voices thunderous, shaking the earth.
Sun Ce gripped his Overlord Spear tightly, his expression unreadable as he pressed forward.
Ji Ling signaled to the soldiers behind him; they nodded, bows drawn slowly, ready to strike the moment Sun Ce came close enough—a deadly ambush.
“We mustn’t let him go further! If Bofu dies here, how will we explain ourselves to Wentai?” Cheng Pu, anxious, urged Zhu Zhi, “Quick, come with me to bring Bofu back!”
“General Boyang, rally the army for battle!”
Almost there!
Ji Ling’s eyes flickered—just ten more meters and Sun Ce would be beyond escape from the hidden arrows!
“My father may have fallen, but his honor and glory shall not be sullied by the likes of third-rate generals such as you!” Sun Ce suddenly halted. “Today you insult my father; I, Sun Ce, swear here and now—when I breach Shouchun, I will slaughter your clans to the last, send your women to serve as slaves!”
“Death without rest!”
Arrogant, heedless of all!
Le Jiu’s heart burned with rage at these words.
“Hyah!” His steed charged, whiskers flying in the wind, as he rushed toward Sun Ce. “No need to wait for another day—your grandfather will take your miserable life today!”
Le Jiu struck, “I’ll kill you with one blow!” His spear pointed directly at Sun Ce’s throat, aiming to end him in a single attack!
Sun Ce twisted aside, the spear passing coldly by his neck. Murderous intent flashed in his eyes; all his strength gathered in his palm. The Overlord Spear lifted high, then cleaved downward in fury, its force raising a mighty wave of sound!
Le Jiu withdrew his spear to block.
“Crack!” The shaft snapped like a twig—sudden and brittle.
The spearhead fell from Le Jiu’s head, his armor torn like paper. Le Jiu tumbled from his horse, disbelief in his eyes, leaving a pool of blood behind.
Truly a single deadly strike!
Sun Ce shook the blood from his spear’s tip and roared,
“Do you rats dare face me in battle?!”
“Clang!”
From Yuan Shu’s army, a soldier dropped his blade to the ground. His skin was sallow, panic in his eyes, his throat bobbing as he shakily picked up his weapon.
Their commander had been slain in one blow!
“Prime Minister is mighty!” Sun Ben shouted, knowing morale would falter with Sun Jian’s death—now was the time to boost their spirits!
“Prime Minister is mighty!”
“Prime Minister is mighty!”
...
“Villains, prepare to die!”
Lei Bu and Chen Lan burst from the ranks, Ji Ling did not stop them—since Sun Ce would not advance, they must capture him immediately!
“Hyah!”
With a fierce cry, Lei Bu attacked from the left, Chen Lan from the right, pincer formation against Sun Ce, who wielded only a spear—surely he could not defend both sides!
“Young whelp, face death!”
Chen Lan arrived first, bellowing. Sun Ce’s countenance was heroic, his momentum gathered, unafraid atop his steed as two foes approached.
The Overlord Spear’s golden edge flared, his heart of conquest amplifying its power. The spear swept from right to left in a powerful arc!
“Bang!”
Chen Lan took the blow head-on!
His sword was knocked from his grasp, hands numbed by the shock, his expression stunned.
A clear crack echoed from his ribs, piercing his organs—his consciousness faded, blood sprayed from his mouth, and he fell from his horse.
Another deadly strike!
“Heavens above!”
Lei Bu was terrified by Sun Ce’s thunderous methods. He hurried to turn his horse and flee.
But Sun Ce’s killing intent surged—he would not let him escape!
The Overlord Spear was hurled like a tiger descending the mountain—a famished beast not to be denied its prey!
Faced with such a tempting morsel, how could it let go?
The long spear thundered through Lei Bu, piercing his body, flying several meters before embedding in the earth.
Sun Ce’s warhorse calmly paced; Sun Ce walked to Lei Bu, drew out his Overlord Spear.
Two more generals slain!
His momentum now unstoppable, Sun Ce had become the god of war on this battlefield.
His steed galloped; Cheng Pu, Zhu Zhi, and dozens of soldiers gathered behind Sun Ce, vigilant, guarding him.
Cheng Pu’s gaze toward Sun Ce softened.
To be a leader, one must possess unrivaled charisma. Now, Sun Ce’s invincible presence on the battlefield matched Sun Jian, perhaps even surpassed him!
Three generals slain in succession—such a blow could shatter any army’s resolve. Who would have thought a mere youth could be so indomitable amidst the troops!
“Prime Minister is invincible!”
“Prime Minister is invincible!”
The shouts grew louder, soldiers exchanging glances, their fighting spirit rising ever higher!
Slaying three generals at the front line pushed morale to its peak, and the new Prime Minister won their hearts completely.
Ji Ling snorted coldly, his gaze icy—the enemy’s morale mounting, Sun Jian’s death would soon lose its impact, time was running out!
“Order! All troops, advance!”
Seeing the enemy stir, Sun Ben shouted, “All troops, advance!”
“Kill!”
Tens of thousands surged forth, clashing upon the land, echoing with the symphony of iron and furious cries!
Sun Ce’s Overlord Spear struck down, surrounded by dozens of soldiers—he’d advanced too far, retreat was now difficult!
Yet the spirit of the overlord remained, and on this battlefield, he knew no fear.
Sun Ce’s steed neighed, its hooves smashing enemy chests, bowling soldiers aside.
Sun Ce’s spear swept in all directions, tearing through armor, raising clouds of blood, gruesome and relentless!
Bodies fell in droves!
Sun Ce’s eyes gleamed with ferocity; he turned his horse, leaned out, and with a swift strike shattered an enemy’s skull.
Each fallen foe further ignited his savage joy; the spear thrust again, felling another junior officer!
