Chapter 37: Big Brother, I Can't Finish Peeing
Bang!
The three people in the back jolted awake.
Bang!
There was another loud crash. The trio hurriedly looked outside the window, and Zhao Mingwei’s eye twitched uncontrollably at the sight before him.
Wasn’t this exactly what he had encountered before?
Lin Mu reversed the car, then shifted into drive, ramming directly into the other vehicle.
Bang! Another impact. Then he reversed again, pulling off a heap of parts from the opposing car.
Jiang Ying swallowed hard. Big brother, that’s a small truck you’re up against. Isn’t this a bit too aggressive?
But in Lin Mu’s eyes, a vehicle like that was no threat at all.
If it had been an armored car, perhaps Lin Mu would have backed off. But to expect him to retreat from a mere little truck was simply impossible.
The driver on the other side was equally stubborn—though it was clear he couldn’t harm Lin Mu, he still insisted on ramming.
After the fifth collision, the other vehicle’s engine sputtered and died.
A man jumped out from behind the wheel.
Lin Mu narrowed his eyes. What kind of gun did the man have in his hand?
It looked like a shotgun?
Bang!
Clatter—
A torrent of steel pellets struck the front windshield, but aside from making some noise, they did no damage whatsoever.
The man was momentarily stunned, not having paid much attention to the protective mesh covering the windshield.
Such things were designed to fend off wild beasts at best—useless against humans, or so he thought.
But Lin Mu’s defense relied on the glass itself.
For a moment, the man was uncertain whether he should keep firing.
Lin Mu wasn’t about to give him the chance. A long blade extended from the hood, plunging into the man’s chest and hoisting him up into the air.
At first, Lin Mu had considered using the flamethrower, but seeing the shotgun in the man’s hands, he opted for cold steel instead.
“If you hadn’t drawn your weapon, you could have become one of my team,” Lin Mu said with regret.
He’d already tasted the benefits of quadruple rewards, and he was curious to see what quintuple rewards would be like. But the man gave him no opportunity.
The three people in the back all sighed in relief. Thankfully, they hadn’t resisted earlier—otherwise, their fate would have been the same as this unfortunate soul.
...
A cold wind swept in, rousing the three from their muddled sleep.
Daylight had already broken outside.
Lin Mu entered, escorting a woman, and 001 expertly bound her with iron chains.
“They’ll tell you anything you need to know here,” he said.
The woman looked resigned, casting a glance at the trio before sitting beside Jiang Ying.
The chill helped Jiang Ying wake up fully. Had Lin Mu really been driving all night? That was almost too much dedication.
“Hello, were you captured by him too?”
“Yes. I tried to drive away, but he kept chasing me. He followed for more than ten kilometers before trapping me in a dead end,” the woman replied with a sigh.
She’d done all she could to escape, but his persistence left her with no options.
“We were in pretty much the same situation. I don’t even know why he’s keeping us. If it were for lust, he hasn’t touched me. If it’s for money, he could have just killed us. Instead, he gives us water and food. Isn’t that odd?”
Finally, another woman to talk to—Jiang Ying let everything bottled up spill out.
“Really? That is strange. My name is Gu Wanqing. And you?”
“Jiang Ying.”
Now that she realized she wouldn’t die and could live on, Gu Wanqing was able to breathe easier. Though the chains were a bit tight.
The chubby man eyed Gu Wanqing and swallowed nervously. This robot’s skill at tying people up was almost too professional. And that pose—who could resist?
“Fatso! What are you staring at? Keep looking and I’ll gouge your eyes out!” Jiang Ying snapped, glaring at him.
“Keep it down, or I’ll throw you all outside for half an hour,” Lin Mu warned, glancing at the rearview mirror.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to be loud,” Jiang Ying apologized immediately.
She’d noticed the outside temperature—it was minus eighty degrees. She wouldn’t survive even half a minute out there, let alone half an hour.
Lin Mu turned back to the road ahead, checking the time—it was already past ten.
In just over an hour, he’d be leaving.
Yet the radar on the windshield showed no sign of any vehicles or treasure vaults nearby.
“That can’t be right. How has there not been a single vault all this time?”
But until the end of the labyrinth, Lin Mu found nothing.
Yawn—
He let out a great yawn, looked at the half-eaten tiger whip in his hands, and tossed it back into his backpack.
Five uses left—no point wasting them.
He took out some food and threw it in front of the others, then climbed to the second floor.
“001, unbind them so they can eat. Once they’re done, tie them up again. If anyone tries to run, just let them go—I’m not concerned,” Lin Mu’s voice called down from above.
He didn’t believe any of them would risk escape. With temperatures plummeting to minus eighty, even he didn’t dare linger outside.
He hadn’t confiscated their heavy clothing, but surviving outside in those layers—nothing like the gear he wore—was a fantasy.
The four of them marveled at the entrance to the upper floor. Who would have thought a car could have a second story? Why didn’t their cars have such a feature?
“Brother Lin Mu! I need to use the bathroom...” Jiang Ying called out timidly toward the opening.
It wasn’t that she wanted to go, but she really couldn’t hold it any longer.
A moment later...
“001, if they need the bathroom, let them go.”
“Yes, Master.”
With permission, Jiang Ying happily grabbed two packs of instant noodles, two sausages, and two bottles of water before returning to her seat.
“Actually, I think things aren’t so bad now. At least we don’t have to worry about running out of food.”
Gu Wanqing nodded in agreement. There was some truth to that.
However...
She glanced anxiously at the opening to upstairs. If he turned out to have cruel tastes, death might be preferable.
Zhao Mingwei’s expression was dark and uncertain, but after glancing at 001, every trace of emotion vanished from his eyes.
He didn’t dare think about it—not at all.
...
It wasn’t until four in the afternoon that Lin Mu descended from the upper floor, stretched, and took his seat at the wheel.
“Master, here’s your meal,” 001 said.
It was just a bowl of instant noodles, but the meat was plentiful.
“Not bad, not bad. They haven’t caused any trouble, have they?”
“No... Though this woman’s visits to the bathroom have been rather frequent,” 001 replied, pointing at Jiang Ying.
Jiang Ying froze. She’d only gone twice more than usual—was that really so excessive?
Lin Mu looked at her, debating whether to exchange her for someone else. Too many bathroom breaks wouldn’t do.
“You—”
“Big brother, it’s just that I have a weak bladder, nothing I can do about it. Look, I never cause trouble, unlike Zhao Mingwei—he even tried to escape that time.”
Zhao Mingwei, his face battered and confused, stared at Jiang Ying.
He was at a loss—couldn’t she just leave him out of it?
