This beautiful woman is none other than the famed Ice Queen of the group, Jing Su.

“Mm.”

Jing Su responded coolly without looking up at Zhou Yang.

Her slender, captivating eyes scanned the documents in her hand, her lashes fluttering as if her eyes themselves could speak.

Seeing Jing Su busy, Zhou Yang didn’t disturb her and simply stood by, waiting patiently.

After a moment, Jing Su set down the papers and looked toward Zhou Yang.

Her expression was haughty and aloof, her gaze sharp and commanding—an aura befitting someone in a position of power, intimidating and unapproachable.

“Let me introduce myself. I’m Jing Su, Director of the Marketing Department.” She extended her hand briefly, then gestured, “Please, have a seat.”

“Oh, okay.”

Zhou Yang stepped forward and sat opposite her at the desk.

Jing Su rose and went to the side to get some coffee.

“Let me help, Director Su!”

Zhou Yang stood up to assist.

But Jing Su shot him a cold glance. “No need.”

Zhou Yang felt instantly awkward, but he could sense the formidable presence of this woman. In a single glance at close range, he could almost feel the overwhelming force of Jing Su’s aura.

For a young woman to hold the position of Marketing Director at EPS, she was truly extraordinary.

Jing Su pressed the button on the coffee machine, but just then her phone rang. She placed the cup near the water outlet, picked up the phone from the desk, and said, “Hello, yes, this is she. You said…”

At that moment, coffee began flowing into her cup.

Jing Su answered the call while walking back toward the coffee machine.

Seeing her seemingly distracted, Zhou Yang worried the water might overflow, so he hurried to press the stop button.

However, Jing Su reached the machine first and stretched out her hand.

Zhou Yang’s hand didn’t press the button but instead firmly landed on Jing Su’s hand, almost covering it entirely.

Her skin was delicate and smooth, with a unique texture.

For a moment, they both froze.

Time seemed to stand still.

“Director Su, I’m sorry…” Zhou Yang was deeply embarrassed.

Jing Su ended the call, her brows knitting slightly as her sharp gaze fixed on Zhou Yang. “I told you I’d do it myself. Can’t you listen?”

“I thought the water was going to spill…” Zhou Yang explained.

“Presumptuous,” Jing Su sneered coldly, casting him a sidelong glance before turning back to her seat.

Yet, at that very moment, Zhou Yang noticed a faint blush on Jing Su’s face.

After the brief awkwardness, Jing Su said, “Having you report to me is just routine. From now on, my assistant, Xiao Xue, will arrange everything for you—your seat, your work duties, and so forth.”

“You can go find Xiao Xue now.”

Zhou Yang was about to get up but suddenly remembered a question. “Director Su, there’s something I don’t understand. May I ask you?”

A trace of impatience flashed in Jing Su’s eyes. “Speak.”

Zhou Yang asked, “I’m still an intern. How come I was suddenly hired directly here?”

A deep disdain crossed Jing Su’s face. “How did you come here? Don’t you know yourself?”

“Me?” Zhou Yang was confused. “Director Su, I really don’t know!”

Jing Su snorted coldly. “I detest people who try to be clever in front of me. Out!”

“Ah? Director Su, I…”

“Out!”

“Yes, Director Su!”

Filled with a thousand questions, Zhou Yang left Jing Su’s office.

Now he was even more bewildered.

How he came here—he truly did not know.

He asked Human Resources, who told him to ask Marketing. The Marketing head told him to reflect honestly.

At this moment, the question of how he arrived had formed a perfect closed loop.

The way this large corporation handled affairs was truly professional!

Meanwhile, inside the office, Jing Su was restless.

She kept picking up documents and setting them down again, opened her computer to check emails but didn’t know what she was looking at.

Her mind kept replaying the image of Zhou Yang’s hand pressing against hers on the coffee machine…

…

Zhou Yang found Xiao Xue, who assigned him a seat, briefly explained the department rules and regulations, then asked, “Have you received your supplies yet?”

“What supplies?” Zhou Yang asked.

A hint of disdain flashed in Xiao Xue’s eyes. “Supplies are your office materials—things like notebooks, folders, and other common tools. Also, your employee badge. You’ll need to get these from the Administration Department.”

“Administration?” Zhou Yang was taken aback.

Wasn’t that the department where Wei Lü worked?

“Is there a problem?” Xiao Xue asked.

“No, no problem!” Zhou Yang replied.

“I’ll notify Administration on Daba, so you can go pick them up now,” Xiao Xue said.

Daba was EPS Group’s proprietary internal communication software, very similar to apps like DingTalk or QQ, used for employee communication and remote video meetings.

Zhou Yang hurried over to the Administration Department and knocked on the door.

“Come in!”

He pushed the door open, greeted by a blast of cool air from the air conditioner, which was set much lower than in other parts of the building.

“What do you need?”

Wei Lü, seated closest to the door, habitually asked.

The next second, her eyes widened like lanterns, her face full of disbelief. “Zhou Yang? What are you doing here?”

Zhou Yang remained calm. “I came to find you…”

He wanted to say he was here to collect supplies from Administration.

But before he could finish, Wei Lü interrupted, “We broke up. Do you really have to come here?”

Her words instantly drew the attention of everyone nearby.

Colleagues in Administration all lowered their work and stared toward the door.

“You’re overthinking!” Zhou Yang said. “I just came…”

“Zhou Yang! We broke up, why are you still coming here?” Wei Lü snapped. “Do you know you’re disturbing my work? How did the security let you in?”

As she spoke, Wei Lü’s expression was haughty, as if this was her noble domain where Zhou Yang was an unwelcome intruder.

When Wei Lü joined the company, she had sent Zhou Yang a message clearly stating she didn’t want him to bother her anymore.

But Zhou Yang never replied.

She had always wondered—given his personality, how could he not respond?

Now she understood: he wasn’t ignoring her; he was holding back something big!

He had come straight to her office to persist.

The surrounding colleagues began whispering among themselves.

“I heard Xiao Lü just broke up with her ex before coming to headquarters. That must be him!”

“Haha, he really found her here?”

“A brave warrior charging for love!”

…

“Zhou Yang, you’re making me very uncomfortable!” Wei Lü was furious, feeling the surrounding murmurs.

She got up and grabbed Zhou Yang. “This isn’t a place you should come to. Please, stop embarrassing yourself, okay?”

“Let go!” Zhou Yang shouted, startling her.

“Can’t you just say what you want?” he snapped angrily. “I was directly hired into Marketing, and I’m here to get supplies from your department! Do you think I came to see you?”

Wei Lü froze, then grew even angrier. “Are you crazy? You have the nerve to brag? Do you think I’m stupid?”

At that moment, the Administration Manager opened the office door and called out, “What’s all the noise about?”

“Manager, sorry, I have some personal matters to handle,” Wei Lü said, forcefully pushing Zhou Yang. “Get out, or I’ll call security.”

But the Administration Manager approached, appraising Zhou Yang from head to toe. “You’re Zhou Yang from Marketing, right?”
