Volume 1, Chapter 34: There Is Always Someone Better
"Zhou Yang, what are you doing?" Seeing that things were taking a turn for the worse, Bai Lu hurriedly stepped in front of Zhou Yang and said to Xie Feng, "Let's talk this out properly!"
Then, she turned to Liu Yan and said, "We are all colleagues. If you carry on like this, how are we supposed to work together in the future? Hurry up and convince your friend!"
Liu Yan sneered and walked up to Bai Lu, lifting her delicate chin with one finger. "I can convince my friend, and I could even forgive Zhou Yang."
He then leaned in and whispered in her ear, "But you have to be my girlfriend and come to my place tonight."
"Liu Yan, have you no shame!" Bai Lu was so angry her face flushed red.
Liu Yan turned to Xie Feng and spread his hands. "Brother Feng, this group of people are quite arrogant."
Xie Feng waved his hand, pointed at Bai Lu, and said, "Arrogant, are they? Come here, beauty. Kneel before me and lick my feet. If you do it well enough, today's incident will be wiped clean."
He knew Bai Lu wouldn't agree; he said it simply to humiliate Zhou Yang.
*I will use every possible means to insult your friends; this is all because of you.*
However, in the next second, a wine bottle went flying toward Xie Feng.
*Smash!*
Caught off guard, Xie Feng didn't even have time to dodge. The bottle struck his head, and blood began to stream down instantly.
Zhou Yang, finally unable to contain his rage, roared, "If you want to drag us down with you, then I'll play along today!"
As he spoke, he lunged forward like a cheetah, vaulting over the coffee table and tackling Xie Feng. His fists rained down on him like a storm.
The surrounding crowd was stunned by his sudden display of ferocity.
Zhou Yang had always appeared refined and fragile, but this transformation made him seem like a raging beast, his presence sweeping over the room like a tidal wave.
Even the girls who had been dining with Zhou Yang were dumbfounded. They had previously thought of him as a gentle, younger brother figure.
Da Xiong was also extremely shocked; he had no idea the kid possessed such explosive power.
On the sofa, Zhou Yang and Xie Feng were locked in a struggle. Xie Feng was no match for Zhou Yang and was soon covered in blood from the wild punches.
Seeing this, the thugs rushed forward, grabbing Zhou Yang and pummeling him with kicks and punches.
Overwhelmed, Zhou Yang was surrounded, forced to focus entirely on blocking, unable to fight back.
Bai Lu asked anxiously from the side, "Da Xiong, hurry up and help!"
"He's the one who started this, I'm not getting involved!" Da Xiong replied.
He could see that Xie Feng’s side had significant backing; just looking at those burly, tattooed men made it clear they were people of the underworld. If Zhou Yang crossed them, the consequences would be dire. He didn't want to offend them.
Meanwhile, Liu Yan approached Bai Lu and said, "If you care so much about Zhou Yang, why don't you go help him? Go on, go ahead!"
As he spoke, he kept pushing Bai Lu toward the fray.
"Bastard!"
Zhou Yang completely snapped. With a roar, he pushed through the pain and stood up. Regardless of what was near him, he grabbed an object and swung it at the men around him.
Although these thugs were experienced in brawls, the soft fear the hard, and the hard fear those who have nothing to lose. Seeing Zhou Yang’s "do or die" attitude, they instinctively backed away.
Even so, they wouldn't fear just one man; they waited for an opening to surround him again.
Zhou Yang gradually shifted from blind rage to cold calculation. He targeted their pressure points with precision.
Two men were instantly knocked to the ground, clutching their bodies and howling.
The others, seeing this, grabbed wine bottles and stools, charging at him.
Zhou Yang stepped back, his mind becoming even clearer. After dodging and weaving, he managed to launch counterattacks.
Panic set in for the attackers, and they left themselves wide open. Utilizing the layout of the club, Zhou Yang toyed with them, striking at their pressure points and joints with sudden, jarring blows.
They could hit Zhou Yang many times, but he only needed one strike to destroy their ability to fight.
Moments later, only two men remained standing.
This scene left Liu Yan and Xie Feng deeply anxious. They had brought six friends, thinking they could easily handle Zhou Yang. But now, not only were four of them injured, the remaining two seemed incapable of stopping him.
Even Da Xiong was left in awe. Even he could probably only take down one of them; Zhou Yang's combat ability was truly astonishing.
"Damn it, use weapons!" Xie Feng shouted, holding his bleeding wound. "If you kill him, I'll take the blame!"
Just then, a commotion came from the corridor. The private room door was kicked open, and a group of men rushed in.
"Who's causing trouble here?" the tall, thin man in the lead roared.
He was the one in charge of security. Having heard from a waiter that a fight had broken out in this room, he had brought his men to quell the situation.
Entering the room, he saw the mess and the men writhing on the floor; the battle was clearly nearing its end.
The tall man scanned the room, his eyes lighting up.
All the girls in the room were beautiful—especially Bai Lu, whose appearance was so captivating it would linger in one's mind for ages. Combined with her classmates, the mature and sexy Zhao Ziying, and the pure, cute girl with glasses, they were far superior to the cheap makeup-wearing women usually found at these night spots.
The men behind him also stared, their eyes transfixed.
"Ahem!" The tall man cleared his throat. "Who's causing trouble?"
"They broke into our room and started this, and they hit people!" Bai Lu said, pointing at Xie Feng and Liu Yan.
A beautiful woman's words always held weight. The tall man’s sense of "heroism" flared up, and he barked at Xie Feng, "Are you out of your mind?"
Xie Feng pulled out his VIP membership card and slammed it on the table. "I'm a VIP here."
The tall man stepped forward and took a look; it was indeed a VIP card. But even a VIP couldn't just cause trouble.
"Does having money mean you can do whatever you want?" the tall man said. "Do you even know whose place this is?"
"No!" Xie Feng gritted his teeth.
"This is Brother Long's territory. If you didn't know, go ask around the clubs in this area. See what happens to people who cause trouble at Brother Long's place," the tall man threatened.
Xie Feng had heard of Brother Long and felt a wave of apprehension.
He stood up and said, "I'm sorry, brother. I didn't know this was Brother Long's place. I'll leave now!"
"Leave? Where do you think you're going?" The tall man blocked his path.
By now, Liu Yan and the others were terrified. They had trashed the room, and if the owners held them accountable, they had no way to settle the debt.
"I'll pay for the damage! Move!"
Xie Feng was already furious, and being threatened only fueled his temper.
"You're not going anywhere," the tall man said.
"Get out of the way!" Xie Feng snapped. His new girlfriend, Zhao Ziying, was watching, and he needed to save face.
"Damn, who the hell do you think you're talking to?" The tall man roared and kicked Xie Feng back onto the sofa.
He reached behind him, and one of his men handed him a baseball bat.
"Say that again, I dare you."
The tall man stepped onto the sofa, pressing the tip of the baseball bat against Xie Feng's chest.
