Chapter 121: You’re Wearing It, and So Are You—Whether You Like It or Not
A sudden silence fell over the scene.
The man stared at 001 in utter confusion, wondering how this woman could be so brutal. It wasn't just him; Shu Yi and the others were equally dumbfounded. Wasn't it established that team members couldn't attack each other during the first three days? Why had she gone straight for a shoulder throw? Was it because she had no intention of killing him?
Lin Mu’s hand, holding his water cup, froze in mid-air. *It’s really that simple? Just putting the collar on counts?* He wondered if the act of applying the collar bypassed the rules, or perhaps...
Lin Mu picked up his walkie-talkie. "001, put them on the remaining two as well."
"Understood!"
001 strode forward. The two men gulped. "Hey... don't come any closer! We’re team members! You aren't allowed to attack us!"
001 ignored their protests, grabbed one of them, and snapped the collar onto his neck. She then grabbed the other and repeated the process without hesitation.
Shu Xin looked at Shu Yi. "Sis, is it really that easy?"
Shu Yi nodded subconsciously. "It certainly seems so."
Lin Mu scratched his head. *Could it be that the restriction only applies to team members attacking each other, but not to non-members? Or is it because 001 is a robot?*
With this experience, things became much easier. The group of five stood outside to receive the newcomers; those who were cooperative put the collars on themselves, and those who weren't had 001 help them. In short, whether they wanted to or not, everyone was getting a collar.
Of course, there were those who resisted, but it made no difference to Lin Mu. In fact, he was grateful to them for delivering their vehicles.
In the distance, the new members of Lin Mu’s fleet huddled together.
"Are we entering a bandit’s den? This is the fourth vehicle we’ve seen them seize, right?"
"Fifth. That’s twelve people now."
"Whether it’s a bandit’s den or not doesn't matter. What matters is whether our lives can improve. As long as things get better, I can accept anything."
They had struggled in this world for too long and had long since lost hope. But after seeing the pictures of the gourmet food Shu Yi and the others had posted, they were truly tempted. Though they had encountered situations quite different from what they imagined upon arrival, it didn't matter. As long as there was good food at night, what were these small hardships?
If there really was good food, they would dare to wear not just one collar, but ten. As for those who had died, they were simply short-sighted; being alive was better than being dead.
By the time dinner arrived, Shu Yi and her team stopped accepting new arrivals. They had acquired a total of 27 vehicles and 33 people, bringing Lin Mu’s total to 79 vehicles and over 100 people. Lin Mu was quite satisfied, especially with the vehicles from that afternoon. He was very grateful to those who hadn't cooperated; they had essentially gifted him their vehicles for free. It was perfect.
Dinner was simple—just rice and stir-fried vegetables—but the newcomers devoured it like they hadn't eaten in centuries.
"Is life outside really that miserable? Why are they all in such a state?"
"Who knows? Is there no food out there? We encounter plenty of beasts, don't we? Isn't it delicious to just kill one and roast it?" Shu Yi and the others couldn't fathom it.
After everyone finished eating, Lin Mu kept them behind. "Did you have nothing to eat out there?"
The group looked at each other until one man replied, "It's not that there’s no food, it’s just that it’s awful. We have no seasoning, so the meat tastes like nothing. And that’s not even the main point—the main point is that we’re lucky to kill a single beast in a month." They encountered many beasts, but actually killing them was another matter entirely.
"Exactly! Sometimes we have to find those breadfruit trees, which grow things like black bread. It’s hard and disgusting, but we have to eat it."
The new members began to vent. Hearing their experiences, Lin Mu started to wonder if he was being too generous. He suspected that even instant noodles would taste like a feast to them now.
For the next two days, Shu Xin and the others repeated the process, with 001 remaining the primary force. The others watched from the sidelines, their faces twisting in sympathy whenever they saw 001 perform a shoulder throw; 90% of them had been thrown exactly like that.
In two days, the fleet expanded to 130 vehicles and over 150 people. They were 70 vehicles short of their goal of 200, but there was no one left who wanted to join, save for one last small group of only 10 vehicles.
"Brother Mu, there are quite a few foreigners who want to join us. What should we do?"
"What are they saying?"
"Nothing special, just that we are all people of the Blue Star and should help each other."
Lin Mu stroked his chin, pondering. "Which countries are they from?"
"All sorts. There are about forty or fifty of them, and their levels are quite decent."
*Decent levels, you say? Well then, bring them in.*
"Handle them one by one. Let 001 do the work."
"Wait, we’re taking in foreigners?"
Lin Mu shook his head. "I don’t need the people; I need the vehicles."
With that, Lin Mu turned and returned to his vehicle. It was time for the other teams to return. Shu Yi watched him leave, her mouth twitching. *You are truly ruthless.* But it did sound like a good idea. At the start of the game, these foreigners had been the most venomous with their insults; now, it was time for retribution.
Over the next half-day, the team members grew increasingly excited, some even itching to take 001’s place. Lin Mu glanced at two of them; they had mediocre character and terrible tempers. He didn't stop them, and they grinned happily. They had been suppressed for so long that they were eager to vent.
The moment they tried to strike, however, both men collapsed on the spot, bleeding from their seven orifices and dying instantly.
Lin Mu nodded. As expected, team members were forbidden from attacking each other during the first three days. In the entire group, only 001 was exempt from this restriction—which was perfect.
At 6:00 PM, the fleets of Jiang Han and Zhao Jin were teleported back.
"Captain, hurry and receive these supplies! We can't fit any more!" Jiang Han said happily. Lin Mu hadn't been stingy with their food rations during this time, providing much better than what they had had on their own. If he didn't put in some effort, it would be inexcusable.
"Captain, I have some here, too."
Both of them transferred their supplies to Lin Mu. Lin Mu took a deep breath and asked them one question, which left them stunned.
"Why didn't you use the fleet’s warehouse? If you put the items in the warehouse, I can take them directly."
Lin Mu had been monitoring the fleet warehouse the whole time, wondering why it was filling up so slowly. It turned out they had been keeping everything in their own cores. He didn't know what to say.
