As Lin Mu had anticipated, a year later, the undead below had nearly claimed this entire region, making survival in every city a harsh struggle. Venturing out to scavenge supplies meant constantly being prepared to face these undead. Fortunately, most of these creatures were fragile; as long as one possessed a bit of combat strength, they posed little real threat—mostly just a nuisance.

Over the course of that year, Lin Mu had destroyed two massive cities, a dozen large cities, and over forty medium-sized ones, amassing an unimaginable trove of supplies. Yet, he planned to rest for a year, not intending to continue his campaign immediately. It wasn’t a matter of conscience but strategy: during that time, he would mark certain cities, aiming to wipe them out all at once.

From the void above, a shadow twitched at the corner of its mouth. “You already have so many resources—why do you keep going down there?”

“You’re doomed. If he keeps this up, the people down there might all starve to death.”

Just in the areas he had raided, the death toll had already reached 80,000, not counting those killed by the undead he unleashed.

The shadow grimaced, “Can you blame me? I’ve already sent him to the Mysterious City. What more do you want?”

“Forget it, just let it be. Hurry to settle other planets. Shorten the process—two disasters and they can come in.”

Better to replenish some population than let numbers keep falling.

“But their strength will be weak.”

“Weak? How long has he been here? How long have those who came earlier been through? What’s the end result? Still defeated by a mere veil.”

The shadow was momentarily speechless.

“Fine, then we’ll adjust it to two rounds. A batch added every month—no big deal.”

“I’ll make changes on my end too.”

Lin Mu had no idea how many planets had prematurely entered the game because of him. Even if he knew, he wouldn’t care; since he was already here, it made no sense for others not to join. If possible, he hoped more would come—that would mean even more supplies.

His thinking proved correct. Because of him, everyone who later joined the game obtained four times the supplies he had at the time. The difficulty of acquiring weapons dropped dramatically.

The shadow scratched its head, realizing the situation was becoming more complicated.

One month later, the first batch of people arrived on this planet.

From that moment, the entire planet began to evolve in unpredictable ways.

“Brother Mu! Brother Mu! You must see the surveillance below!” Shu Yi’s voice came through the watch.

Surveillance?

Lin Mu opened the screen and focused the camera downward.

Though the distance made the image blurry, the dense crowd was unmistakable.

“Why are there so many of them now?”

“Maybe new arrivals. We actually encountered some before, but not in such numbers. But that’s not the key point—the weapons they carry are laser weapons!”

Indeed, these newcomers not only wielded laser weapons but also brought war machines. Though not as advanced as Lin Mu’s own, in this world, they were formidable.

Lin Mu stroked his chin, wondering if this batch belonged to the “Super Technology Game” faction.

But their strength didn’t quite match that.

Chaos reigned below. Compared to the initial days when those from Blue Star had to hide daily, these newcomers were outright war maniacs. Despite heavy casualties, it was far better than Blue Star’s early days.

The next month, another group descended.

During that time, Lin Mu spent hours observing them, even enhancing his camera system to get a clearer view below.

“Supplies, all supplies—these people have plenty of resources,” he noted.

These newcomers had far more than they did. Though they had resource detectors, their gathering was manual. These new arrivals used full automation; just place equipment on the ground, and resources transformed into crates.

Lin Mu had no idea how much was inside those crates, but it was certainly abundant.

He rubbed his hands, thinking it’d be unreasonable not to seize some of these supplies.

Just as he prepared to send people down, Korodo came rushing in.

“City Lord, it’s bad! The city is descending!”

Lin Mu quickly turned to the screen; indeed, the city had grown significantly larger.

“What’s going on?”

“Unclear. The descent began a month ago but was subtle. Today, it’s obvious. At this rate, the city will land by tonight.”

Korodo spoke rapidly.

Lin Mu frowned. When he first obtained the map, the city had always hovered in the sky. Could it be that with an owner, it was descending? But that didn’t make sense—they had said the Mysterious City was nowhere to be found. If it lands...

The Cyclops race...

“Summon all the clan leaders. I want information on the Cyclops and this Mysterious City.”

Five minutes later, a group gathered in the office.

“About the Mysterious City, everyone says it can’t be found, but there are many legends. Some even claim to have come from there. So clearly, the city must have appeared below at some point.”

“The Cyclops have no technology, yet they say they went to the Mysterious City.”

“Exactly. If that’s the case, the city’s descent might be part of the rules.”

The group shared what they knew.

Listening, Lin Mu opened his panel.

Before he could speak, a notification popped up:

[Mysterious City Landing Countdown: 6 Hours!]

So the city hadn’t always been airborne.

He turned to the crystal orb, hoping it held clues.

Placing his hand on it, a light screen appeared:

[After the Mysterious City lands, it will broadcast coordinates to cities within a 2,000-kilometer radius. Please prepare defenses.]

Lin Mu finally understood why the Mysterious City had so many legends but few who truly knew of it. Most likely, most people died in such places. Even survivors became legends simply because they never found the city again.

The others read the message too, and the clan leaders suddenly grasped the situation.

Two thousand kilometers was but a small portion of the region.

Probably, that group of Cyclops had found the Mysterious City this way—and by chance, entered it.

“Since everyone has seen this, prepare accordingly. You won’t engage in direct combat but will focus on ambushes and cleaning up the battlefield. I’ll provide communication devices. At the moment the city lands, you must exit and hide outside the city immediately.”
